Templars and Templarism: reasons and deceptions of a myth -Conference

15 to 17 October 2025 – Troyes, Centre de congrès de l’Aube

As part of its scientific programme, the Templars Heritage Route is presenting a symposium entitled ‘Templars and Templarism: reasons and deceptions for a myth’, organised by the Aube Archives and Heritage Department, in association with the CRHIA (Nantes University) and the ‘Modernités médiévales’ association. The conference will be held from 15 to 17 October 2025 at centre de congrès de l’Aube in Troyes.

The aim of this conference is to focus on three main themes:

  • historical templarism
  • cultural templarism
  • political templarism

Bringing together a number of specialists in the field, this international meeting will examine the uses, forms and actors of Templarist myths and what they say about our relationship with the Middle Ages and contemporary medievalisms.
