\r\n\r\nLe concile qui s\u2019ouvre \u00e0 la cath\u00e9drale de Troyes le 13 janvier 1129 \u00e9tablit la r\u00e8gle de l\u2019ordre du Temple<\/strong>, officialisant ainsi le premier ordre religieux et militaire de la chr\u00e9tient\u00e9<\/strong>.\r\n\r\nDe retour de J\u00e9rusalem avec quelques-uns de ses compagnons, Hugues de Payns mobilise son \u00e9nergie pour faire reconna\u00eetre le statut novateur de \u00ab\u00a0moine soldat\u00a0\u00bb qu\u2019il a cr\u00e9\u00e9 dans la Ville sainte. Parmi les appuis religieux et politiques qu\u2019il sollicite, celui du pape Honorius II sera d\u00e9terminant. Il promet \u00e0 Hugues de r\u00e9unir un concile provincial charg\u00e9 d\u2019offrir une r\u00e8gle de vie \u00e0 la nouvelle communaut\u00e9. Le concile s\u2019ouvre \u00e0 la cath\u00e9drale de Troyes le 13 janvier 1129.\r\n\r\nLe choix de Troyes ne doit rien au hasard. Hugues de Payns a trouv\u00e9 un \u00e9cho naturel\u00a0 dans\u00a0 sa\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Champagne\u00a0 natale,\u00a0 aupr\u00e8s\u00a0 du\u00a0 comte Thibaud\u00a0 II\u00a0 et\u00a0 de\u00a0 son aristocratie. Surtout, il est parvenu \u00e0 convaincre l\u2019abb\u00e9 Bernard de Clairvaux du bien-fond\u00e9 de la double vocation religieuse et militaire de l\u2019ordre.\r\n\r\nLe 13 janvier 1129, sous l\u2019autorit\u00e9 du l\u00e9gat du pape<\/strong>, Mathieu d\u2019Albano, et autour de Bernard de Clairvaux<\/strong>, le personnage le plus influent de l\u2019assembl\u00e9e, sont r\u00e9unis les plus importants pr\u00e9lats des provinces eccl\u00e9siastiques<\/strong> de Sens et de Reims : les archev\u00eaques (Reims et Sens), les \u00e9v\u00eaques (Chartres, Soissons, Paris, Troyes, Orl\u00e9ans, Ch\u00e2lons, Laon, Beauvais), les abb\u00e9s (Clairvaux, C\u00eeteaux, V\u00e9zelay, Pontigny, Trois-Fontaines, Saint-Denis de Reims, Saint-\u00c9tienne de Dijon et Molesme). Les premiers articles portent sur le courage, la discipline et l\u2019humilit\u00e9<\/strong>, leurs qualit\u00e9s indispensables et primordiales. Il y affirme que l\u2019indispensable protection des Lieux saints et des chr\u00e9tiens<\/strong> justifie la guerre contre leurs agresseurs<\/strong>, des infid\u00e8les mus par le \u00ab\u00a0Malin\u00a0\u00bb, d\u2019o\u00f9 le terme de \u00ab\u00a0malicide\u00a0\u00bb, utilis\u00e9 pour qualifier le meurtre perp\u00e9tr\u00e9 par un Templier.<\/div>\r\n
